The first piece represents the idealistic, optimistic and ignorant point of view. The resources humanity gains from nature and the idea that nature is a permanent thing and won't end now. The second piece is the complete opposite. It represents humanity bringing the end of the world, ultimate destruction and downfall. This is meant to bring the question to the viewer, "where is the middle? Where is the grey to the black and white?"
